Public Notice: West Nile Virus Detected in 2 Crows

The Town of Oakland has been notified that two crows from Oakland tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) on October 22, 2025.
While the risk to humans remains low, residents are encouraged to take steps to protect themselves and reduce mosquito exposure. The Town encourages all residents to take simple precautions such as using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants when outdoors, and eliminating standing water where mosquitoes can breed.
